Step 1: collection and fine sorting
The HDPE sheet waste collected in the workshop is centrally transported to the recycling workshop for secondary sorting. Sorting can be “artificial + automation” combination of ways: manual elimination of obvious foreign objects (such as metal, wood chips, paper), automated equipment (such as color sorter) according to the color and thickness of the classification.

Step 2: shredding processing
The sorted qualified HDPE sheet is sent to the industrial crusher to be crushed into fine fragments with a particle size of 5-10mm.
During the crushing process, we need to pay attention to the control of the equipment speed, to avoid the high temperature caused by HDPE melting and sticking, affecting the crushing effect. After crushing can be filtered through the screen to remove small impurities.
Step 3: cleaning and drying
HDPE fragments after crushing need to be cleaned to remove surface dust, oil, glue and other impurities. Cleaning can be used “cold water rinse + alkaline solution soaking” approach, for stubborn stains can be appropriate to increase the cleaning time.
After cleaning, the pieces will be sent to the centrifugal dryer to remove the surface water, to ensure that the water content of the pieces is less than 0.5%, to avoid air bubbles in the subsequent melting process, affecting product quality.
Step 4: Melting and Extrusion
Send the dried HDPE fragments into the extruder, and melt them into liquid state under the high temperature of 180-220℃. The melting process needs to be filtered through the screen to remove the fine impurities that are not completely cleaned.
The extruder can be adjusted according to the needs of the parameters to ensure that the liquid HDPE flow uniformity, ready for the subsequent pelletizing.
Step 5: Pelletizing
Liquid HDPE is extruded through the die of the extruder to form long strips, which are then cut by the pelletizer to make uniform HDPE regenerated pellets.
Recycled pellets need to be cooled, after cooling, screening out unqualified particles (such as too large, too small, sticky particles), qualified particles sealed storage, as the raw material for subsequent production.
Step 6: Reprocessing into new products
HDPE recycled pellets can be put back into production and used to make new HDPE sheets, plastic boxes, pipes, trash cans and other products.
If the recycled pellets are of high quality, they can also be used to produce non-food-grade packaging containers (e.g., shampoo and laundry detergent bottles), gardening tools, etc., thus realizing the recycling of resources.
